Lloyd Banks Beats Assault Charge In Canada

G-Unit member Lloyd Banks won a major victory in court last week (July 15th), when an Ontario judge dismissed criminal charges against the Queens, New York rapper.
The charges stemmed from an incident in January of 2010, when Lloyd Banks, born Christopher Lloyd and a group of men allegedly assaulted Chris Hines, a well known booking agent in Ontario, Canada.
Banks and several other men were accused of assaulting Hines after a show at Club NV, just outside of Ontario.
Hines claimed that Banks and several other men held him hostage in a hotel room and assaulted him for over 20 minutes.
Last week, Justice Michael Epstein dismissed all charges relating to the January incident, which sparked headlines around the world.
“Banks would like to thank his Canadian counsel, Patrick Ducharme, and the authorities in Ontario for doing ‘the right thing,” Banks’ United States lawyer, Scott Leemon ESQ., told AllHipHop.com.
“After a careful and neutral evaluation of the facts, it is good to see that the system actually worked,” Leemon stated. “With this finally behind him, Banks looks forward to coming back to Canada soon.”
Charges were also withdrawn against two other men in the assault case, while a third, Nicklas Sloane, pled guilty to assault and received a $2,500 fine.

Rich Kidd’s camp releases statement after sex tape leak

Toronto, ON – While this may come as news to some, a ton of people were apparently copied on an e-mail that went out last night after the ex-girlfriend of MC/producer Rich Kidd hacked into his account. After hacking into his e-mail, she then sent out a video link to a sex tape that she and Rich had shot together at some point during their relationship. Not taking any chances on who the video blast might have offended, Rich Kidd’s Ridgeway Inc. family was quick to release this statement:
“On behalf of the Ridgeway Inc family, we’d like to apologize to our colleagues, supporters and fans who received a lewd, unauthorized e-mail from our team on July 9th, 2010. This was an obvious breach of privacy as an ex-girlfriend hacked into Rich Kidd’s computer in attempt to embarrass him. Please be advised that the e-mail address associated with the invasion of personal video and photography is no longer under our control. We thank you all for your continued enthusiasm for the Rich Kidd/Ridgeway Inc. projects and appreciate your respect moving forward.”
Keep that in mind if you receive any weird e-mails from the Ridgeway camp today… an angry ex-girlfriend is on the loose!

Lebron James Agrees To Play For The Miami Heat! Joining Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh

In an unprecedented set of events, the Miami Heat have instantly become the favorites to win next year's NBA Championship.
No question, the Heat will be the team a lot of fans will love to hate as the three headed monster of Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade have agreed to play in Miami.
Wade had already agreed to come back to the only team he has ever played for, Ex Toronto Raptor. free agent Bosh was next to fall in line. And tonight (July 8) the man they call King James made his announcement on ESPN in an hour long special that had the feel of a championship game rather than a player simply picking the next team he would play for.
Nothing short of at least one NBA Title will justify these three picking the same team to play for during this free agent period.
The Cleveland Cavaliers become the biggest loser in this process, they go from perennial title contenders to also rans overnight. Lebron said he felt bad for leaving Cleveland without winning a championship ring. He hoped his "true" fans in the city would stick by him.

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced To 90 Days In Jail For Violating Her Probation

Lindsay Lohan was just sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her probation in her DUI case, followed by a 90-day inpatient rehab program.
Judge Marsha Revel sentenced LiLo after an incredulous prosecutor, Danette Meyers, told the judge that Lohan has been thumbing her nose at the court.
The evidence was loud and clear today -- Lindsay violated probation by failing to attend her alcohol ed classes based on the schedule set by the judge. There were lots of excuses, but ultimately they didn't fly.
The judge said there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case.
Lindsay broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge, "I did the best I could."
Lindsay dissolved into tears when the judge imposed the sentence.
Lohan must surrender on July 20 in Judge Revel's court.

$45 Million Worth Of Drugs Seized From Tractor-Trailer In California

(CNN) -- Authorities in southern California said the strong smell of marijuana helped them discover $45 million worth of drugs in the back of a tractor-trailer they had pulled over for a traffic violation.
Deputies stopped the truck Wednesday morning, then opened the trailer after finding problems with the paperwork for the load, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
An "overwhelming odor" led investigators to about 20 tons of narcotics stashed in pallets in the back of the truck, including about 38,000 pounds of marijuana, 2,700 pounds of cocaine and 67 pounds of methamphetamine, the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Sheriff Rod Hoops said Friday night the seizure was one of the largest in the county's history.
The truck's driver, Fernando Luevano, 32, was arrested and charged with possession, transportation and sale of narcotics, authorities said.
